Background
I started Jem Website Design because I wanted exactly what you want: FREEDOM.
I was on maternity leave (although if I’m honest, I don’t think I ever really planned to return to what I was doing before). I wanted the flexibility to spend time with our kids while they’re little, personal fulfilment, and control over my future.
I had worked in marketing in various roles since graduating from Uni and in all these positions, I had somehow ended up working on the businesses websites. Regardless of the technologies or content management systems that they used, I was always able to quickly familiarise myself and adapt my skillset in order to get the task completed.
Fast forward 12+ years, and I’ve helped hundreds of business owners, bloggers, and entrepreneurs build a web presence so they can land their ideal clients, make more money, and reach their goals faster.
about me
I’ve always been into computers. My dad was an earlier adapter of any new technology, so when I was little and computers were just becoming a thing, I was always waiting in the wings to see what I could play with next. I remember as a kid always tinkering about and making games using BASIC code, sitting in front of a computer then (as is now) is still my happy place. Studying Marketing at uni and loving all things consumer behaviour, it just seemed like a natural progression to combine the two passions and Website Design does just that!
I live in Wollongong, with three pretty awesome kids and my husband of 20 years. I love chocolate, coffee, wine, walking my sausage dog, long lunches with girlfriends, tramping through Mt Keira and riding pillion (not motivated enough to get my own licence) on a motorcycle.
